# Introduction

Art of Chat allows you to substitute a value into your message in place of a value received in your appointment file, to provide personalized information to the call recipient. For example, if you are making medical appointment reminder calls to patients, you could replace a provider code with the title and name of a provider or replace a visit type code with preparation instructions for the appointment. 

# Create a Data Mapping

To substitute the new value into a message, you would utilize *Data Maps*. This feature* *allows you to convert information stored in your *Contact* or *Appointment* fields into meaningful phrases to be included in your messages. You can decide which values need to be converted and what the new phrase should be.
