# Disclaimer on How Data is entered into Inphonite
> ❌ The overwhelming majority of the contacts added to Inphonite are added using flat file that is imported. If your data is being added through this method, you will want to make sure your scheduling software has the most up to date information instead of manually updating contacts within Inphonite because the changes will be wiped if a new file is received.
# How to access your contacts
There are multiple ways to access your contacts within the application. Please review and select one of the options below to proceed to navigate to your contacts database.
## a. From the Dashboard
> ✅ **Method 1: **People/Contacts can be accessible by selecting the option from the dashboard menu.

## b. From the menu
> ✅ **Method 2:** To access *your contacts* from the hamburger menu in the upper left-hand corner, click on the menu and select ***Contacts***.

# Adding a New Contact
If a contact is not within your system or did not get imported from the flat file, you can still manually add them into the system with relative ease. Continue reading to see how to DIY!
# Creating/Editing a contact

| > ℹ️ Click on the New button |  |
| > ℹ️ Clicking the *New* button with produce a form. |  |
| > ℹ️ Fill in the relevant fields for your contact or make changes to the fields that require modification.
> ⚠️ The minimum requirements for a contact to be notified is a first name, last name, and a phone number/email address. |

# Filtering Contacts/Advanced Search
> 📝 Search is located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Search allows users to check for any data fields in the account similar to searching in a search engine. For example, you can search for anything on your account from the name of a contact to the name of the location.

# Deleting one contact
If you need to manually remove a contact from your Inphonite system, with the following steps you’ll understand how to delete them from within Inphonite.

| > ℹ️ Locate the contact you would like to delete with the filter tool. |  |
| > ℹ️ Click the delete button |  |
| > ✅ If you have deleted the contact, you will see this icon on the lower right corner. |  |
# Deleting all contacts
Need to purge your database of **all** contacts? We have a button for that! It is a little hidden away to prevent any accidental mass deletions, but after reviewing the next set of instructions, you’ll be able to clean your database and start with a fresh slate.
> ❌ **Please note**: Removing contacts will purge any related data to the contacts including appointment reminders, reminder attempts, and prevent them from showing up in future reports. Moving forward, you accept that there may be no recovering of some **if not all** previously entered contact data.
