# Introduction & Use case
Groups are a useful tool for when the usual flags (Custom Fields) are all used up and the contacts still need to be categorized. This can happen when some contacts can have more than one flag at a time- this is when this is most beneficial as assigning multiple groups to a contact can relieve the use of custom fields for other purposes.
# How to Access

## Create a New Group
> ⚠️ Groups can be mapped from within the imports, so it may not be necessary to create one manually. Please contact our support team if you are unsure of your import’s configuration of groups.
A new group can be created by clicking the button above the list of groups labeled + New Group. A new instance requires a name before it can be saved, so enter the name in the white space under ‘General’. Only now can the save button be pressed to save your changes.
## Delete a Group
Any group can be deleted as quickly as two clicks. The first step is to select the group to be deleted, then press the button in the top toolbar labeled Delete.
## Assigning Groups
> ⚠️ Just like groups can be created from the imports, they can also be assigned, so assigning them manually is only applicable for select contacts that are already in your schedule data. This is most appropriate for one-time use, such as

Select your desired contact in the list on the left (left image) and scroll to the bottom of the contact page to see the Groups section (right image).
Groups can be selected and deselected for each contact by pressing the checkboxes.

# Review
Groups are best useful when custom fields are all occupied and your contacts are still in need to be categorized and organized. When multiple flags are used, your custom fields can become cluttered and run out before you know it. Just like custom fields, groups are applied to filter your contacts in various tools in Inphonite.
