# Introduction

**What are surveys and how are they useful to me?**

Inphonite's Surveys are a valuable tool that enables users to create and design surveys that can be used for various purposes. Here are some ways in which the Survey Editor can be useful:

1. Collecting Customer Feedback: With an Inphonite Survey, businesses and practices alike can design surveys to gather feedback from their customers. The surveys can be customized to target specific areas of the business or practice, such as customer service, product quality, or overall satisfaction. The feedback can then be used to make improvements to the business or practice and enhance the customer experience.
2. Conducting Market Research: Surveys can be used to gather information about consumer preferences, behaviors, and opinions. This information can be used to help you develop new products, create targeted marketing campaigns, or identify potential areas of growth.
3. Employee Engagement: Surveys can also be used to gauge employee satisfaction and engagement. The results can be used to improve company culture, identify areas for improvement, and explore opportunities to boost employee morale.
4. Event Planning: Inphonite Surveys can be used to create surveys for event planning. The surveys can be used to gather feedback about the event, identify areas for improvement, and help plan future events.

Overall, Inphonite's Surveys are a versatile tool that can be used in a variety of ways to gather valuable feedback and insights.

> ℹ️ The following is a guide on our Inphonite Surveys and how to manage various surveys in your account. To learn how to design the survey questions and functions, please read our [Survey Editor article](https://inphonite.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KBPUB/pages/1238237185/Survey+Editor+Advanced).

# Creating a Survey

## Survey Templates

## General Settings

![SurveysCRUDCreateNewEndTextRequired.png](media://b7a7e073-c3f5-4729-9ab7-473cef4db58f)

If the survey is saved now a notification will appear at the bottom right indicating that the survey requires an end message before it can be saved.

![SurveysCRUDCreateNewEndMessage.png](media://b2f17691-124d-4c67-9be0-3aeeaec42458)

Simply write a short closing message as a placeholder. It can be updated at any time.

# Modifications

## Web Surveys

![SurveysCRUDWebSurveys.png](media://93653f9f-636b-47df-8a7d-f6e2304581e4)

The fields for the Name and Description in this section will only display in the top banner of the Web Survey.

![SurveysCRUDWebSurveysPreview.png](media://b1e42736-d5c2-4f1a-aaf3-3cca0925083f)

This is how they appear in the banner. The logo in the header is the account’s company logo which can be edited in the system settings for the account.

## Conversational Surveys

![SurveysCRUDConversationalSettings.png](media://55c3dd1d-13ce-4b0d-8746-a69329a34b2c)

Conversational surveys are conducted through SMS (Text Message) Protocol. The three text boxes are messages for special actions other than answering survey questions. Each message can be edited in the text box with full message variable functionality.

> ℹ️ Read our [message variables article](https://inphonite.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KBPUB/pages/1147306680) to learn more about inserting variables into messages.

![SurveysCRUDConversationalSurveys-NeedsHelp.png](media://db9ae4fa-d525-4cf9-9dd2-d7005d0b4e03)

If a contact requests help or an error occurs during a conversational survey this is the message that is sent to indicate that the account will notify the users about the help request. The check box below enables in-app alerts for users in this very case.

![SurveysCRUDConversationalSurveys-LinkRequest.png](media://b3df3370-3493-41df-8b81-9e05ff66a2ee)

For any contacts that prefer not to complete the survey via text message conversation, they always have the option to request a link to the website version of the survey. This is the message sent by default.

![SurveysCRUDConversationalSurveys-Unsub.png](media://0df7dc9d-dc95-4761-8937-4410aa795b08)

Unsubscribe responses are required to be processed to stop sending messages to any recipient that requests them. This is the message sent to unsubscribe requests by default.

## Survey Questions

The surveys are illustrated in a flow chart which includes all the questions and actions in the survey.

## Global Survey Actions

Once these messages and actions are configured, they can be enabled or disabled by simply checking or unchecking the boxes in line with your actions. Once configured, your actions will be saved, regardless of being enabled or disabled.

![SurveysCRUDGlobalSurveyActionEditorActions.png](media://21526cd1-22f1-4460-b18c-63f50087ca6e)

Checking the boxes or toggling your actions on will result in opening the global survey actions editor window. From here you can enable or disable any form of global actions and edit them from the other tabs at the top. Click the OK button at the bottom at any time to save the changes to your global actions.

Here’s a summary of each action and its editor.

# Delete

![SurveysCRUDDeleteSurveyNotification.png](media://e2df6622-aab2-483b-8d29-cdf0bd09d771)

When successfully deleted, the list will be updated to show the previously selected survey is removed and a green notification will appear in the bottom right of the window. You’ll have around three seconds to click on the notification to undo your changes before it disappears.

# Running your personalized survey

Ready to run a survey? To get things started, you’ll need to create a message that will contain either a link to the survey or start the survey depending on the type you created. Surveys can be triggered with an email or a text message. For this example, we will send out a survey link utilizing a text message. If you aren’t familiar with creating a text message, please check out article on ["How to Create a Text Message".](https://inphonite.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KBPUB/pages/1062109185)

> ✅ After you save your changes. Navigate to the *Rules Engine*, we’ll need to equip this to a Rule! If you need a refresher on how to make a Rule, see our breakdown for all things [Rules Engine.](https://inphonite.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KBPUB/pages/1114734593)

> ℹ️ In our example, moving forward, any appointments on the schedule, the day after they have been completed, a text survey will be sent out inquiring about feedback.

# Gathering post survey results

So, you’ve got the hang of running your own survey? Now let’s find out what people are saying! We are going to start off by building our own [Report Subscription](https://inphonite.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KBPUB/pages/1168572514)*.*

> 📝 If you want to gather information over a longer period of time, check out how to run a [Quick Report](https://inphonite.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KBPUB/pages/1168572504) to compile all your survey’s results.

# Review

You now know how to modify, send, and review Surveys! The rest is now exploring, experimenting, and testing your surveys through our editor. Please read our [survey editor article](https://inphonite.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KBPUB/pages/1238237185/Survey+Editor+Advanced) to learn more about how to design your survey functions.
