# Introduction

There are two ways to import a file into [Art of Chat](http://voice.inphonite.com/). The first way is to [import a file automatically is using the Art of Chat Client Uploader.](https://inphonite.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KBPUB/pages/65437722/Import+Automation+for+InphoniteVoice+SaaS) While the Art of Chat Client Uploader is automatic, it can only be installed on one computer. There is another way to send the appointments file to Inphonite, manually, by logging into your account.

# Import/Export Data

To get started, generate your report/appointment schedule (preferred as a CSV, but could be in other formats as well) and keep note of where it is being saved. Log into your account. Click the Import\Export Data button on the left.

Once you click on the *Import/Export* button, make sure the* Direction* drop-down is set for "import". If you are sending a file that is using the Art of Chat template (You will know because you will have 56 columns in your file starting with AccountID and ending with AppointmentNotes) choose Art of Chat CSV. If the file is being generated by your scheduling software, choose the other option (it should be the name of your account).

Make sure the boxes for* Include contacts* and *Include appointments *are both selected. *Include assigned messages* only applies if you have personal messages assigned to your patients. These messages tend to be lab result notifications and do not apply to appointment reminders.

After you have selected your *Direction* and *File Format*, click the button at the bottom of the page that says Import

A *File Explorer* window should have opened.

Next, locate the file in *File Explorer* that contains your appointments. If you do not see the file and you are sure of the location, change the drop down menu next to the file name that says *CSV Files (*.csv)* to *All Files (*.*)*. Click *OPEN* to send the file.

If everything was done correctly, a dialogue box stating "*The file has been successfully uploaded and scheduled to be processed." *will pop into the center of the screen.

It could take between 5 and 15 minutes to import your appointments so the best thing to do would be to log out and come back later. Once you log back in, the appointments will be present. If they are not present please [contact support](http://www.inphonite.com/get-support/). **Please do not attempt to import the file again.**
